A friend of mine made on offer on a home in the hillcrest area. The house she wanted was listed from $675-725. She made an offer of $675. They told her no, they wanted near the top end. WTF!!! Why have the range then? I soon learned that they make these ranges so that if someone does a search for a home under $700k theirs will still pop up in the search but in reality they want over $700k. Anyways, she didn’t counter and walked away. A month later they came back and asked her if she still wanted it for $675. She then offered $650. They said they would take it but she decided not to and had a bad taste in her mouth on how poorly this transaction occured.
