A chain we used to hit in the midwest was Aldi’s. They had a lot of basic items for lower prices than anyone around. For instance certain boxed goods, canned goods, snacks, cheese, eggs, milk, and you could also get spinach, broccoli, etc. They had a very limited inventory, and it seemed to work well for them. Many people looked down their nose at them and wouldn’t be caught dead in Aldi’s. However for a lot of basic shopping needs it was a great store.
