Relative humidity is not really a good comparative measure – you are better off comparing dew points. Right now, just about everywhere has a dew point around 60 or 61 F – meaning equally humid. The relative humidity is lower inland because it is hotter. This is somewhat atypical this time of year – usually the dew point will be about 5 degrees lower inland. At any rate, this is slightly more humid than usual, though for people from the Midwest or Southeast, the thought of this weather being “humid” is laughable. 🙂

My impression based on a limited number of visits is that it always seems more sticky and humid at the fairgrounds / racetrack – must be some sort of dead zone for the breeze in that area. Throw in a huge crowd, and it’s probably a given.
