Regarding what people wants (market supply and demand):
Let’s say no car builders are making mass production hybrid vehicles. People who really want a hybrid have to spend the money and go through the trouble to custom convert an existing vehicle to hybrid. It would be easy for people to say that the hybrid market is only a tiny specialty market. It is not until there are mass produced hybrid models available that we can see the Prius selling like hot cakes and see the true demand (sales data).
For San Diego buyers who want modern green homes, spending time and money to remodel or custom build is the only option. I don’t think we can say the demand is not big until there is actually a builder making one of those modern green communities in San Diego and seeing it sell better than the Prius.
