well, I am frustrated with SD housing. All areas we have looked, such as Carlsbad, good schools, less HOA and Mello roos, but farther from work. Stonebridge in Scripps ranch, bigger land, but HOA and Mello-roos topped 500-600/month and no infrastructure. I like Carmel velley, excellent schools, coastal, but look at the price and neighbors are within arm’s reach. Poway has more land, but older house and higher fire risk and of course warmer. Agents say “you can’t have all”, but why not? Maybe not in SD, but I am sure there is somewhere that one can afford to have all. SD is our first stop in U.S.. What about other States? Anywhere has a good education system (not have to worry about budget cut year after year), decent job opportunity for engineers, nice weather (maybe not as good as SD, but I don’t mind colder weather with more lush green). Most importantly, affordable housing. Of course, no wild fire, earthquake and tornado, hurricane stuff like that. Anywhere?
