If GWB pushed a “health care” bill I think the media would have a hard time explaining it and I think his base would spontaneously combust.

With that said, I could care less about the constitution. It’s an old irrelevant document and almost time to put it down to rest. I’m more concerned with the motivations for perceived violations.

Based on what? The left in the USA loved Mussolini. The fact that some may have changed their minds later does nothing to refute my assertion that they loved him for at least a time. They did.

Moreover, I know that up to half the country, and until recently about half or more of Congress, agrees with you that the Constitution is not something anyone need be concerned with.

This is all fine and dandy when things are going your way. But what protections are there if a charismatic racist white convinces a majority that blacks should be shipped to Africa, or stripped of the vote, or fill in the blank?
