Thanks BG and Eugene for the info on schools. We’re definitely not limiting ourselves to particular schools based on ratings as we know there’s more to a school than it’s rating. Diversity of the student body is a consideration for us and might actually weigh in favor of a school like Spreckels over the CV schools. We’ve focused on the one area in CV with the three schools because we’ve read/heard they are good (coworker has kids in or have gone through Sage), but also because of the commute factor. So seems like SV and UC may offer a similar combination of good schools and commute.

To everyone that has posted, thanks so much! I know there are strong and varied opinions expressed here. I read many threads in this forum before deciding to post here, so I was ready for that and value it. It’s nice to see people advocating the communities they live in. We want to know what drew people to one community and what keeps them there, or what drove them away from another community.
