Our contemplated range was more like ~400k depending on it need of repair, and 20% down was pretty feasible. So it was possible to live in that second category and buy a little 3/2 fixer. But at the end of the day I would never feel good about spending that much money on a mortgage for a home that was…meh.
We were never really very serious in our thinking about LM or AG The traffic on the 8 blows, and it just didn’t have a good feel (whatever that means).
It just seems like in other places that I have lived and visited, I just got that good feel (the one that says, “yeah, I could live here”) for half the money. And paying twice what feels right is never going to work, unless helicopter Ben drops off a sack of money. In which case, Point Loma here I come.
