Stopped going in 2008, I was 32 at the time. Myself and a male friend were walking down Avenida de Revolucion in TJ on a Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and a cop car pulled up to us and made us get in the back of the car. We kept asking what we did wrong and they would not say. They drove us around for about 3 hours seemingly not knowing what to do with us. The cop who was driving pulled down a dark alley and shady characters came out of the shadows. I watched the cop smoke crack right there and then he got back in the car and we sped off. Eventually the two cops got out of the car and started arguing loudly in Spanish. I could pick up pieces of it and it seemed like the driver wanted to keep us and the other cop just wanted to let us go. Finally, they dropped us off on a street near the border crossing and took off without saying a word. Never saw them again. Not cool. I was not happy. Ruined my night. What was scary is that it was not the drug lords harassing us, it was the cops.
