We installed solar and although we were ambivalent about the investment (not sure we are going to stay here another 15 years), we were in a high tier, (large house in East Co. you need to run the air when it is 110 and a pool), so we had them installed in April: 12 panels. We had a couple of 600+ electric bills last summer, so now we are off the grid and it has been great watching it run backwards. We went with Sungate energy solutions and even if you do not want to go with them they will go through the house and make recommendations as to how to lower your bill.
We just knew that no matter what we did we were going to get a gouger bill and because I had the money I decided to make the house start paying us back. I would just recommend getting multiple bids and play them off against each other. There are some pretty good rebates both Federal and State and Sungate’s installers have been doing it for awhile. The panels are made in Japan. I would ask where the panels are made and what the warranty is whoever you go with. Good luck.
Watching it spin backwards is one of the better enjoyments in life, right up there with a really good glass of champagne for me. Good luck.
