This is a horrible, horrible, horrible, terrible, atrocious, really, really bad idea. I just have a really bad feeling about this.
Is there some kind of long, metal fixture at the top of the house? For some reason, when I read your original post, that scene from The Omen (or maybe it was The Exorcist) popped into my head where the priest is standing in front of his church in a windy storm and that thing gets blown off the top of the church and impales him. Next, I had a vision of that scene where the dudes were unloading that large pane of glass and it slid out of the truck really fast and lopped off someone’s head.
If you’re OK with dying some kind of gruesome death, I say go forward with this.
