If you think about it a bit, I don’t think it was the fact that a foreclosure occurred that was painful. What was painful was your parent’s reaction to situation, and more than likely their attempt to fight it.
Had they shrugged their shoulders, said we made a mistake, and moved to a rental without waiting until the sherrif showed up, you (the kid) would not have been the wiser.
I’ve known folks who have went through bankrupcties…once the decision was made to go through with it, life became much easier and less stressful. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow.
