San Diego Unified is ridiculously large. The district includes 118 elementary schools. Poway Unified has 25. Del Mar Unified has 8.

SDUSD is a montrous bureaucracy that does not meet the needs of any of its students. Personally, I don’t think dividing it in 2 is enough. It should be divided into at least 3 (or 4 or 5 or 6) distinct districts.
