– Being handed the golden egg of years of intel and blowing it by turning it into a campaign opportunity.
Specifically, he could have kept Bin Ladens death quiet and exploited the rich intel they captured.

How is he going to keep Bin Laden’s death quiet? You can’t kill someone high profile, with helicopters and Navy Seals and have everybody in the world not notice.May 6, 2011 at 7:18 AM #692934NotCrankyParticipant[quote=Hobie]- Being handed the golden egg of years of intel and blowing it by turning it into a campaign opportunity.

First, Pakistan sure knows he was there. And they would know we got him. Is Bin dead or alive? What could they say when the US had ‘no comment’? Nothing confirmed, just lots of rumors.
Admit they were protecting him when they are supposed to be friends with US? Al Quieda would not know what information we just captured and we could use this to our advantage.
In time, months or years later, we would have a very detailed report.
