November 29, 2010 at 9:53 AM #633769AnonymousGuestTwo stories in the news recently:
1) A disturbed kid who never had any realistic means to harm anybody. FBI spends over a year on an elaborate undercover operation, only to demonstrate that the kid would pull the trigger if extraordinary circumstances provided him the opportunity to do so.
2) Another guy creates the largest stockpile of homemade explosives ever found in he US.
Which one continues to make the national headlines?
Which one is labeled a “terrorist” and threat to the US?
Here’s a hint:
One has an Arabic name, the other has a Serbian name.
No, I’m not defending Mohamed Mohamud – he’s a disturbed kid and needs to be put away.
But let’s face the facts:
There are thousands of messed-up kids out there – of every color and religion – that would do the same thing if approached by the right “organization” fighting for a “cause.”
Why doesn’t the FBI help all those other kids act out their fantasies?
There are plenty of Islamic countries yet to invade. But there’s only one Serbia, and we already cashed that one out.
Gotta keep the cash flowing to the contractors.
