Age of the driver is probably the dominant factor, Very few 19 year olds driving Buicks and very few 60 year olds driving Scions. Ticketing is different with the aid of technology, the days of red sports cars getting the attention of the cops are over. Those cars on the list aren’t being singled out by the cops, the folks that buy those cars are more likely to speed and those cars posess the ability to go faster. When you see a cop parked waiting for speeders he doesn’t even watch the road most of the time, the radar unit is programmed to sound an alarm when a car goes by at a certain speed, modern units can track all cars in either direction, even when the cop car is moving, they can track the speed of oncoming traffic as well. When one goes by at a speed that it is set at (ie. 80 on the freeway or 40 on residential) the alarm goes off, cop looks up and the ticket gets issued. Get whatever car you want, just don’t speed and you will be fine.
