Opening of an Escondido Lexus Dealership has postponed due to the County’s extended economic downturn.
An unnamed sales manager at a competing Lexus dealership summed up the situation, “We are seeing a flood of used Lexus automobiles hitting the resale market. It is just killing us. A $35K high end Lexus is now going for mid teens after only 1 year on the road. Between 2002 and 2007, Lexus was THE Realtor’s vehicle of choice. I once had a Realtor come in and buy 10! Now with the economic downturn, I’m spending alot of time catching up on my knitting and praying for a housing turn-around!”
One of my co-workers drives a 2-3 year old infiniti G35, which I mistakenly assumed he bought new. I asked him and he said no, a year and a half old, for 20k. Its not just infiniti. I’d love to buy a Land cruiser 2 years old, but I have no reason to ditch my 4Runner.
