I think you should invest it all in a diversified set of global/international funds. Too much risk if all your investments are tied to US/$

August 15, 2007 at 10:52 PM #76137kev374ParticipantI have mine in diversified INTL but they are also getting hammered because the foreign stock indices (Nikkei and Hang Seng) have also gone down . Remember that a lot of foreign investors own these real estate securities. Not good.

August 15, 2007 at 11:52 PM #76173AnonymousGuestRadelow, yes, I checked my 401k Vanguard Stable Income Fund. Looked at the fine print and read that it had mortgage backed securities. Called Vanguard and the representative could not tell me what the percentage was. However, Metropolitan Life Insurance guarantees the principal of the investors’ amount but not the return. Obviously, it is not FDIC insured.

August 16, 2007 at 7:00 AM #76200TheBreezeParticipantMy 401(k) money market is 75% repurchase agreements and 25% MBS. And that’s the safest option in my 401(k). I’d like to punch my money market manager in the face.
