ParticipantDesmond: Did you happen to catch “Real Sports” fawning interview with Dykstra on HBO about two years ago?
They were going on and on about Dykstra’s financial “genius” and how he converted his work ethic from MLB into making millions and blah, blah, blah. It was embarrassing to watch, largely because it was apparent that Dykstra reads at about a 6th grade level.
HBO had a recent follow up piece about Dykstra, but he was still living in the Gretzky house, which was nearly devoid of furniture. It also featured a number of creditor’s interviews, including a former stewardess from his personal jet, who said that he stiffed her for several thousand dollars when he used her personal credit card to buy fuel for the plane.
What a douche.

ParticipantI did see the HBO piece. I know somebody who works at Lake Sherwood, Dykstra used to pull up in his Maybach, he was reduced to using a cab before he got kicked out.
