What to do with Cash

With no crystal ball, I don’t know where besides CDs, to put my funds. I’m looking to wait on the sidelines until housing makes sense to invest in either a 3-4plex or a SFR. I’ve been an investor for 10 years and have gotten out of the market when prices got too crazy.
When the fundamentals make sense, I’ll buy more properties. I don’t trust the stock market. I fear when all the demons come out, it will decline significantly. Banks are also starting to give me cause for concern. Thoughts?
