I got the Nigerian scam PM, too. Was going to post about it, but figured nobody here would fall for that. Interesting that they would target this site and use PM.November 18, 2013 at 3:41 AM #768103CoronitaParticipant
What do you folks mean????
You didn’t get your $6.5 million after transferring her a few thousand? I did…..
Sheesh! ….You see…That’s exactly the problem with the perma-bears on this blog.
They keep thinking real estate prices will fall another 50%, and completely miss out on opportunity when it’s right there in front of them!November 18, 2013 at 5:39 AM #768104
Depends where — in suburban NY, prices are probably down since 2010, owing to the rush of foreclosures being kicked into the pipeline recently.November 18, 2013 at 7:12 AM #768106
You got a spam message as a piggington private messages? I haven’t heard of this before… can you please tell me the name of the sender so that I can delete the account? Thanks for the heads up.November 18, 2013 at 9:05 AM #768110
K, never mind… someone else gave me the info and that user is blocked. If it happens again, though please let me know… thanks.November 18, 2013 at 11:48 AM #768111
There doesn’t appear to be any mechanism to easily report PM spam — can you set that up like you did for public posts?November 18, 2013 at 12:00 PM #768112
I will look into it…November 18, 2013 at 5:16 PM #768121CA renterParticipant

Here is what they sent:

Here is my response:
What a coincidence. I also inherited $5 million dollars. I’m also an orphan. I’d be happy to send you half of it if you can send the $15,000 legal bill to handle the probate court.
It sounds like we both can win.November 18, 2013 at 5:40 PM #768124
Too transparent — if you want to mess with them, I suspect you have lead them on.
