ParticipantI like both Stella Artois and Beck’s. Craft beer snobs can get condescending if you like big brand beers. Nonetheless, while I’m no beer expert, I know what tastes good to me, and those two taste good to me.

ParticipantI really don’t want to drink anything other than Green Flash West Coast IPA, it’s crazy expensive but I don’t have more than 2-3 per week, still would like a cheaper (but similar) alternative if it exists.

Participant2 to 3 beers, or 2 to 3 6 packs?
If it’s just a couple beers a week I’d say pric ed us irrelevant.

ParticipantSierra Nevada: either Pale Ale or Torpedo IPA.

ParticipantI’ve been getting the 24-packs from Costco:
Stone mixed pack: ~$32 6 each:
Cali-Belguique – I usually pair with food
Pale 2.0- Good for a non IPA, better than original
Coffee Milk Stout- A good heavy stout
Ruination 2.0- A good double, but nothing like the original (was my favorite)They just got in the Sierra Nevada Celebration for $24
-This is what gets me excited for the seasonThey sometimes have the Lagunitas IPA 24 pack as well, I think ~$30

ParticipantI do like Stella and Beck’s too.
I’m a big fan of Trader Joe’s generics. You have to know which style of brew you like; I like lagers and am a big fan of their Bock.
Buying in bulk helps. The Ralphs in 4S typically has a deal where if you buy Four Six Packs at once (can be different types) the price comes down a lot. I’m talking $11/6 pack down to $8 per. Costco is similar pricing but selection choices can be limited.
As for a macro brew, Sam Adams isn’t bad, and Blue Moon is okay.

Yes just 2-3 beers. Thanks for giving me a reason to rationalize buying the good stuff 🙂

Participant“best beer” is subjective, what might appeal to me might not appeal to individuals who drink noting but IPA’s
FWIW trader joe’s has something that I personally like all-round and is under the price point indicated

Just did the Samuel Adams brewery tour in Boston and it was cool, still like the traditional sam adams pale ale and their seasonal, tried the Red Brick (only sold in the Boston area) while there and it was good too. Just poured some Costco beer into a Sam Adams glass and it taste better, could be the laser etched circle in the bottom of the glass that really gives good head.
