ParticipantEverybody have their own $ amount that they need to be financially free. It all comes down to how much you spend. I’m sure if you’re a celeb, you’ll probably need 200-300M+. While I can live very comfortably with $5M and a house paid for free and clear. My parents on the other hand probably would be perfectly happy with $1M or less.

Perhaps the retail numbers are from lesser-earning, middle-class people who want to feel and look wealthy but aren’t actually worth $1-$10 Mil. When your home ATM stops pumping, the land of make-believe becomes too expensive again.
