I wouldn’t hold my breath for MJ to be legalized, though I would like to see it happen also.
There are too many people making too much $$ by keeping it illegal, and too few people who would benefit financially from it becoming legal.
I am pretty convinced that the only reason it became illegal in the first place is that it enhances sex so much, uptight 1930s America thought women would become uncontrollable (gasp!).
