I was in Austin this summer – walked around UT campus several days in a row – at 40+, it has been a long time since attractive twenty-something-year-olds have smiled beckoning-ly at me (or was that just my imagination?) – I dress like a bum (everyday is casual friday) and I was walking (no Beemer) so they weren’t smiling at my money – it made me think longingly of returning to school and pursuing these young coeds (oops, I mean getting another degree)
watched the bats flying out from under Congress street bridge at dusk – went to Inner Space Cavern about 45 minutes north of Austin (right off of I-35 and well worth doing!) – Conan’s still makes killer pizza but they have moved off of the drag – lots of new condos but didn’t seem like downtown was over-run with new high-rise condo buildings – traffic was heavy but Austin isn’t the sleepy little town it used to be – currently ranks about 16th by size with about 700K people in city limits
I could live in Austin – have me a bachelor pad on the edge of the UT campus – hang out at Barton Springs when it got too hot … maybe offer tutoring to young coeds … hmmm
