Actually, I heard that it became illegal because there are many things you can make with hemp. Rope, paper and other supplies. It is cheap and can grow just about anywhere. I thought it was the logging companies that lobbyed congress to make it illegal. They didn’t want competition. They would rather cut down trees. Don’t know if this is all true, but it seems believable.
