I have auto insurance with Wawanesa and I am looking to buy homeowners insurance from them too for a townhome. Has anyone had experience with Wawanesa for Homeowners insurance? How is their fire insuarnce. Does any one have experience with them regarding fire claims??

Any recommendations on which are good companies to buy in terms of the fire coverage?

Wawanesa was great for years. Had auto only with them, but after fires, I wanted umbrella policy. Wawa did not offer so we went with CSAA.

Wawa was great for auto; more costly than CSAA, but no umbrella

When I had my place in Carmel Valley, I wanted to use Wawanesa since I had them for auto, but they would not insure my house b/c I backed a canyon. That was another lifetime ago, so their policies may have changed and may be less restrictive. Not sure. That was just my experience.

Just tried to get Fire from Wawanesa this week.
Tried to insure a house in Aviara, they said there were too many trees in the area. They are pretty strict..

I have them for auto which is pretty good, but will jump ship if I can get a better package deal at another company.

I've had them for years for car insurance after thorough comparison shopping. Could not get them for home insurance as they won't take the slightest risk, & I am too close to open space area. I believe their philosophy is to be super cautious in who and what they will insure, & accordingly have about the lowest rates.

Agree, if you can't get Wawanesa, try CSAA.

My Ex had the same canyon issue with Wawanesa when trying to ensure her home in 02 with them. I believe it was 1000 feet or less and they won't do it.

thanks guys.
wawanesa is not insuring my townhome since the HOA is a POS and is not covering any external structure and just covers the common areas like swimming pool etc..

I had Wawanesa for many years in the past because it was the cheapest. Then I needed to use the insurance due two claims. One claim was my fault and the other was not, and in both circumstances, the service was atrocious. I had to fight my own insurance company!
Wawanesa is good only if you plan to never use the insurance, and in regards to home insurance, they will only insure you if there is no chance of potential loss.
Since I have grown up now, and have allot to loose, I want to protect myself, my family and belongings, so I did allot of searching and found these guys: www.fast2insure.com Sure, they are a little more expensive then Wawanesa, but the services has been phenomenal. And, I know that I don’t have cheap insurance that I cannot rely on to protect me.
So, in other words, with Wawanesa, you get what you pay for.

So Big fingers you say that fast2insurance services have been phenomenal. I would presume that means that since purchasing your policy you have been in an another accident and had to put in a claim.

If not I am sort of wondering how you would boast about their service being phenomenal. You might have made the same statement about Wawanesa if you were not in an accident.

I am wondering. Have you made a claim with your new policy holder?

Safe Harbor
I use Wawanesa and have put in a claim and had good service. I was not at fault. They made a few calls and my car was fixed. The other person had Wawanesa aswell.

I have to second the atrocious comment about Wawanesa. I have them for car insurance. My car was stolen and I had to fight with them to get anywhere near replacement value. It took six months. They even dumped my wrecked 4Runner in my neighbors driveway.

I had a car stolen with Geico and the matter was all handled quickly and to my satisfaction. Since I'm cheap, I'm still with Wawanesa, but their service is shit.

Every company should buy a policy of fire insurance because it make sure that you are working safely. Nowadays
Austin home insurance is the best insurance company which is providing better opportunities as per your desire.

More likely an automated dictionary-based product. If you spam search engines with one paragraph again and again you will get sandboxed quickly. And if you use real people to write the creatives it can get costly.
The goal is not to generate business off of this board, but to increase position on the organic (non-paid) side for certain keywords.

I know you have made your decision but let me add a quick comment about Wawanesa.

Were were initially told we lived too close to an open area. I asked for an on-site inspection and was approved.

I had a car stolen as well and it was a battle with StateFarm to prove value. The adjuster finally caved after I sent them a recent photo with our (then) puppy sitting in front of the car. That photo 'proved' the value I was asking for. After that, we talked longer about dogs than cars.

Cute kids and animals. It works every time. I am going to start putting puppy stickers on my mail when I write to the IRS for extensions.

We've had Wawanese for Auto a long time, and have filed at least six claims over the years, theft repair/recovery, sidswipes, front end... They always seemed as good as anyone else. They would not cover me while I was living near Seattle (but they did allow the policy to run out rather than cancel it) so I used Geico in the mean time.

Actually, since all but one of the collisions was our fault, State Farm or Mercury ended up paying off most of those claims.

Since none of my friends in LA ever heard of them (they think the name must be some sort of joke)I always ask my body shops what they thought of Wawanesa. One liked them a lot, the other thought they were fine, but made them jump thru more hoops.
