U.S. Median price down for first time ever? What are they talking about?

I've seen it written a few times that this is the first time U.S. median housing prices are down.

Obviously, unless I'm missing something this is false. Everyone rememebers the drop in prices from the early to mid nineties as well as drops in the seventies and eighties. According to this chart there have been housing bubbles every few years since they started keeping track of this type of thing- so what are they talking about when they say that this has never happened?

If you look at the second chart that I posted, it's U.S. housing trends, not just regional.

That is an inflation-adjusted chart. For the national norminal price, that's the only time it dropped since Great Depression.
