Temecula - Morgan Hill Estates?

Hey all -
I've been a long time member here, but after we sold our house and moved away for work in 2005 and I stopped posting as much.
Now, we're moving back to the area, and are moving back to Temecula. I was out there this weekend and wanted you guys' opinions about the Morgan Hill Estates development. The builder now is Standard Pacific. I understand the previous builder went belly up, but it sure looks like the development is back on track and things are moving ahead.
What do you guys think about Standard Pacific as a builder, the development, and Morgan Hill in general? I read some old criticisms of the area - do you guys think these still apply? No general Temecula bashing please. :)
The things we really like include the fact that the Estates development has larger lots (most are >10,000sf), open floor plans, and the cool California rooms.
We've looked at the REO, shorts, and active listings but have found very very few with a decent sized yard like these have.
Am thinking seriously about putting one on hold - do you guys think we're crazy to buy from a builder right now, given the economy and everything else on the market now?
We do have a fairly flexible timeframe to purchase, but given the fact that we've been in rentals for the past few years my wife's pretty eager to buy something and get settled.
I'm definitely not looking at a purchase as a means of financial gain, but am also trying to mitigate how backward we would have to go when we eventually sell (no definite plan on a timeframe though).
