Tax Roll Records?

I'm thinking about renting a privately owned condo and I remember reading on here that there is a way to look up the tax records to find out whether or not the property is distressed and possibly heading into foreclosure. Does anyone have the website address for this? Thanks.

Go to SD County Assessor's website and look at grantor-grantee records.

Just search on owner's name. Any notice of default will be attached to the owner's name. If you don't know the owner's name then you will have to go to the county assessor's office to get this (public and free) information.

I check periodically on the owner of the condo I rent - just so I don't get any surprises.

Go here and search for the address to see the current tax status. It's best just to enter the street name and zip code then browse the results.

If you take a trip to the County Recorder's office you can read the actual loan documents. That will tell you if there are any loan resets pending.
