I say we vote all these idiots out of office in November...and yes she is up for reelection. I for one can't wait to cast my vote against her. Not voting for McCain or for Obama either...think I might write in Ron Paul instead. Gawd, never thought I would say that. Damn pissed off!

I second the motion. You see the majority of the Congressmen in San Diego voted against it. I think they saw the writing on the wall.

I know I am preaching to the choir on this one, but please dont just vote against her. Talk your friends and relatives into voting against her. I have spent all this week talking to those that I can to get them to bring the axes to the polls. One vote is something they are just as happy to ignor. A organized group is something that they fear. Dont stew in silence, let others know.

(just please, understand that many of the people who will oppose you are terrified. They dont know what to do, and are scared, so they support this BS. Attacking them will only make them defensive and closed minded. TALK to them, explain why they shouldnt be fearing a recession, they should be fearing the much much bigger disaster we are now on course for.)

I received a letter back from Duncan Hunter regarding his opposition to the bailout. He had proposed instead the removal of the burdensome tax and regulatory barriers preventing private capital from reaching the marketplace. This also included a home buyer tax credit to help move excess housing inventory as well as market based incentives to address the continued devaluation of property. Anyway, that did not work, but at least he voted against the bailout.

That's MY plan.

I decided that months ago, even before Palin and Biden were on the respective tickets. Hasn't changed a thing.

I WAS going to vote for Obama. No more. I wrote our Senators, Obama, and Susan Davis 2X. I called all of their offices. They all lie and manipulate, and I too, will be writing in Ron Paul.

Since I'm out of the country in nov, I voted absentee against her, for the Libertarian candidate. Its a protest. I wrote her every day during this debacle, as did many others. All to no avail.

Cool thread,
I know it is taboo to push a candidate on friends and loved ones but this year I might. I am pretty sure I can get a couple to vote for RP.

Another thing I wish people would organize, in mass, is a boycott of all forms of popular media. Cancel all subscriptions, television ect.

We sent Susan Davis a nice hate letter about how she should try listening to her constituents and not to her pocketbook. All she had to do was look at the poll given on her own website to see that it was nearly 20:1 against. I believe her days are numbered as a Representative.

DWCAP....
Good points...Problem is so many people blindly swallow what is fed them in the media. And unfortunately most people don't bother to do a little searching for the real truth. I have and will continue to talk to my friends/co-workers.

I know that there is economic danger out there especially with these damn investment banks that took on so much risk. The counterparty risk is real and that became evident when Lehman failed. However, this will not have an effect on the real problem and further it STINKS to high heaven. Giving Paulson (former CEO of Goldman Sachs) absolute control over $700 billion of tax payer money without any oversight is ludicrous. He is already recruiting his old friends to take part in the auction oversight process (wonder how much they are making for their "work"). Further, has anyone noticed that we are effectively creating a monopoly in the banking sector?

I can't remember which senator said it, but he stated that he was voting "no" in part because he and others had received a letter from 400 economists, 3 of which were nobel laureates warning him that this was the wrong thing to do. Even Roubini states this is not the way to handle the situation. Why in God's name are these idiots listening to Paulson over scores of highly educated economists. I'm not saying something shouldn't be done, I am just saying that we needed to do this the best way, after careful consideration. In the end this will not effect home prices, nor should it. We absolutely need a correction in the housing market.

Lastly, I know that people have gotten hurt in the housing correction, however I have no sympathy for those that took out loans that they knew they could not repay, the speculative flippers, or those that cashed out with HELOCS to buy toys they otherwise could not afford. It is a painful lesson, but one which we, as a Nation, need to learn. The previous generations whose parents lived through the Great Depression understood the value of money and saving. We are now one of only a few nations that actually has a negative savings rate. Maybe we need a severe recession/depression to finally hit home the folly of our ways...
