Sources to research San Diego Real Estate?

My brother is looking to buy a townhouse in North SD county. Prices have come down severely, and may continue to decline. He knows that, so I'm trying to avoid discussion about that. What I want to know is what the best free resources are to research existing properties.

For example Zillow gives you their "zestimate" some basic property info, and last sale date and price. In LA, I use propertyshark.com, which sometimes gives you the amount and type of loan that was used by the prior buyer. However, propertyshark does not cover SD.

Are there any good websites that will provide additional info on SD county properties. Also, for townhouses and condos, is there any way to research the HOA?

Thanks

I use Redfin and cyberhomes.com. I also use foreclosure.com but do not subscribe. I am looking in a very small area where I am familiar with most of the homes, so I can usually figure out which ones are listed on foreclosure.com There are a lot of knowledgeable realtors on Piggington: SDRealtor and sdrealtor to name a couple. There are also people who specialize in the areas you are interested in who will probably post when they see your question.

There have been a lot of postings on checking into HOA's. Use the search bar at the top right corner and run a search on HOA for a listing under that topic. Good luck.

You might try sdlookup.com....they provide a service that gives you today's changes...price cuts, new listings, expired, pending, and also foreclosures, you can check the changes daily. They also provide a market overview, price per square foot so you can compare, and sold price per sq. ft, all great information. I personally check it daily for my searches.
