Sandicor Tempo 5.0 Upgrade - Locked out online RE sites???User Forum Topic
Submitted by New_Renter on May 29, 2008 - 3:45pm
Has anyone else noticed that MLS listing updates at the major online RE sites like sdlookup, redfin, houserebate, etc. have completely stopped the last couple of days? I know Sandicor completed a major upgrade of the Tempo system to the 5.0 level with new security features. Did this lock out all the online sites that us consumers depend upon? Is this yet another conspiracy by the realtor associations?

They just did a software upgrade. They have to upgrade sometime. More than likely the other websites just haven't adjusted yet - give it time. Transitions take a while.
What is Tempo used for?
Redfin upgraded, and now bank REO listings are black houses on the map...
The transfer to a new system has been a disaster for everyone. you dont do major construction on the freeway in rushg hour and you shouldnt do an MLS changeover in the Spring. We actually pay these idiots to make bad decisions like this.
I agree... rolling out the upgrade right now is crazy. November/December would have made alot more sense. Give it time and the listings will be ported out to the other online sites. Tempo is the name of the platform that is in place that Sandicor provides for the MLS.

They still seem to be having issues... sdlookup has not been updated since Saturday.
Must have been a Jun 1 deadline from the software vendor, or you software goes to unsupported.
there seems to be amuch bigger priblem.
Will this be a disservice to sellers?
there seems to be a much bigger problem.
Will this be a disservice to sellers?
Summer doldrums,High Mortage rates= slow slow market
They outsourced the software to India, according to sdlookup.so the silence
I am a buyer receiving mls reports from my realtor... and they are horrible compared to the old version. Also, since the tempo update, there have not been any new listings in the 4 zip codes we are trying to purchase a home in...... coincidence, or a glitch in the system? I agree with the other poster who said "why now?" Even though this market is soft, it is still the busier time of the year!!
As a buyer in this market, between the high number of short sales (not desirable for us to do) and this new updated system, we are really in a bind. Anyone have any ideas where I can find listings that don't rely on this new system?
Well it looks like SDLookup has been updating throughout the evening. I think I was actually going through withdrawals. It sounds like Sandicor really screwed things up with this upgrade.

If your realtor has set up your information correctly then you should be receiving new listings. It would be hard to imagine that there is not a single new listing in 4 zip codes.
Unfortunately we all had to reenter our prospect information and that sucked.
Ask your realtor if they had completed your personal search that they had set up for you. Ask them to manually check to see if there are any new listings in the 4 zip codes you have referred to. If the manual check reveals new listings inform your realtor that they need to update your search and that you want a dump of all the new listings.
I would agree that the new listing format is not as nice as the previous format. I will say however that the new format does actually ask for MORE information then the previous format. However all existing listings were ported to the new format and the new fields that have additional information are left blank. As new listings are entered into the MLS the listing information actually will contain MORE information then the previous listings did.
It definitely sucks that they did this swithover now and I would say that they bungled it up pretty well. All MLS listings rely on the new platform...
I will say this, you are not in a bind because of the new system. Call your realtor and ask him/her to set you up properly. The system is up and running, albeit with continuing problems.

The timing was terrible. Any upgrade should occur in fall or winter. Regarding new listings, it's probably a side affect of the upgrade. I follow downtown and SDLookup has 10 new recent listings in 92101 so they're definately available.
