responsible investing (not green!)User Forum Topic

I'm NOT asking about green investing, or sustainable investing, or ethically responsible investing. The housing bubble can be seen as part of an ongoing American malinvestment in unproductive assets (e.g. houses, luxury cars). So lets say I had some $$$. I could put it towards a pool, I could buy a fancy car, take a fantastic vacation, but suppose I wanted to invest in a productive asset. I could buy Intel bonds to let them build a new fab. I could try to find a local business looking for an investor. I could give it to someone on this board who makes a witty response. I could buy welding equipment and open a machine shop. How would you go about avoiding "malinvestment"?

Is this another way of asking "what's a good investment to make"?
It's different for each person. I'm assuming you have at least $35k to spend, based on your comments about cars, pools, and vacations. If you have a lot of time to put into it, IMO a self-run business is always your best investment. Otherwise put it in a CD for a while and forget about it.
Or you can always go hookering.
nost - or the ideas in the email ;)
Though, it might be considered "green" investing.

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court rejected appeals today from two holdout counties in Southern California that object to the state's 13-year-old medical marijuana law and claimed it should be struck down as violating the federal drug-control act.
Without comment, the court turned down the pair of appeals.
The action likely will clear the way for patients in San Diego and San Bernardino counties to seek county-issued identification cards that show they are eligible to possess and use marijuana.

No one really knows where to invest for good returns. My personal feeling is that countries in Asia will do well if they are tied to the rise of China and the other Asian motor economies. But it's a real challenge to go from an economy to specific investments that will do well.
Thanks dear for sharing your thought and i want to share one thing with you
