Relative to what?

because we are living in a world where there are no fixed monetary standards (all currencies are fiat), I believe we have to think in relative terms when we are planning our long term financial strategy

I prepared the chart as an example - it shows the current Dow rally priced in US $, Euro and gold

the rally is still impressive in Euro terms but look at the rally from a gold bug's perspective - the Dow dropped 7400 points and has only managed to retrace 23.6% of that decline - not very exciting

I don't have any answers here - I'm just opening up a topic for discussion
