Recco for a thorough inspectorUser Forum Topic
Submitted by maverick on July 16, 2012 - 12:29pm
we are looking for an awesome recco for an inspector. historically, we have had horrible issues with plumbing so someone who specializes in this OR can do a deeper dive on plumbing would be ideal. haha - i've always told myself that if we buy another home i will pay extra to get this checked thoroughly as a way of prevention = not having to replace your hard wood floors 2x! thanks in advance for any reccos you have.

Thanks for the Recco, did you use him personally? And if you care to comment what made him different and unique?
i used him. not sure what makes him unique, as its probably first/last time i'll ever use a home inspector...but he showed up on time and wrote a longreport with lots of things he noticed. and he was nice to talk to.
He showed up to inspect a listing of mine several years ago and on a home less than 5 years old was my sellers nightmare. He found things I have couldnt beleive even small things. I've used him alot since then also. He is very thorough and knows lots of things about building that most dont. He will point out mistakes the builders made. With that said he is quite expensive and can be overkill for some properties. He doesnt like to travel far from NCC either. I'm surprised he went to Temecula.
There are plenty of good inspectors out there but even the best is limited to a general perspective. If you have big plumbing concerns there is no substitute for bringing in a specialist.
thanks again everyone for your reccos - this board and community has been invaluable to us.

I've used this dude in the San Fernando Valley area. Very thorough. The realtors were both really pissed at him, LOL!
