Zillow's zestimate is $655K. They paid $322K for it in 1999. Who cares if they have "documented $250K in upgrades?" Does a buyer have to reimburse them for their design decisions?!?
This appears to be the smallest floorplan in the neighborhood. The most recent sales - including the larger models - have been in the $750k - $825k ranges.
Anyone who would put in $250k in upgrades on a $750k home is just begging to get their clock cleaned on resale. $100k would have been too much.

Classic example of the Cultural Pathology alluded to in another post. Even if they put in $250k in upgrades, they are still trying to get almost $500k in profit out of it. Over 8 years, that's a tidy $62500/yr. Who needs a job?
And, really, a 2100 sq ft house for a million? You can get a 3500 sq ft mcmansion for that price in a much nicer part of town.
Looks like someone scanned a flier and posted it as a web page. Geez, for a half million in profit, at least you could have spent a hundred bucks for a web developer to put a page together for you.

Its a FSBO put up by one of the companies out there that will will put it in the MLS for a small fee or even for free (like Buyside Realty). They dont care what the owner wants to put as a price and this is a clear case of a delusional seller who is not getting professional help. It's been in the mls for about 1 year. Nothing to see there, move along.........
I was tickled to see in the picture that the CPA certificate was displayed so prominently for everyone to see. All wannabe-buyers walking through the house would be "proud" to be funding the CPA-seller's retirement dreams.
My CPA certificate, in comparison, rots in the closet. I am now a proud Stepford wife who does lunch with the country-club ladies.

sd realtor, despite the occassional attacks I've seen you and other R/E pros endure, I think your insight on this house has sold me on the need to use a professional like yourself in future transactions. If this guy was your client a year ago when he first listed I bet he would have walked away with a lot more cash in hand than he ever will the way he is doing it because he is trying to save money. I wonder what percentage of listing agents are honest with their clients or do they have to allow the delusional to think what they want knowing the next agent will tell them what they want to hear. Isn't there a fee to list on the MLS, why would anyone do it for free? BTW, living in a house that is for sale sucks, why would anyone want to do it for a year?

It doesn't look very nice -- bad design, very Jerome's Furniture like.

I haven't seen "sweet" images like that since my Commodore 64 days...thanks for the slice of nostalgia.
Hahahaha Rockemsock. Man that was funny, it looks like 8 bit color palette?
I use Firefox and got a weird rendering of the webpage. You have to use IE to properly view that site.
If I had to buy that house, I'd ask for a discount to undo some of the decor.
eccen in esc
Come on you guys. It has "cabinets with hidden hinges and latches". Cut them some slack.
ha ha
way too gaudy for me

Maybe they did the upgrades themselves and charged $500 an hour for their labor.

we got a CPA here?
funny. didn't he realize the $250,000 in improvement is completely not tax deductible? well, unless he worked at home I suppose.
Interesting, it's removed by auto-moderators, can anybody that saw it identify why it would be flagged down by the craigslist users?
that's certainly the first time i've seen cpa appended to a name in a home for sale ad. too funny. i don't even have it on my business card.
My CPA certificate is probably burried deeper than nancy's and has been for nearly 20 years.
Another craigslist gem: "Please note, buyer does not pay commission, seller does..."
Hmmm, debatable.
