OK so after seeing a photo of $1 Million I did some back of the napkin calculations.
1 gram | $ value
$100bill | $100
platinum | $58
gold | $28

I used $100 bill because is the basically the highest denomination of bill currently produced.

Any thoughts on how long equilibrium will take or other consequences of this?

A gram of decent cocaine is about $100.

I'm not sure what this post has to do with anything but there is my useless contribution.....

My point is that if I wanted to carry $100,000 with me, it will soon be easier to just carry platinum or gold. It will be smaller but weigh the same (1kg).

How about whale vomit? Ambergris. I don't see that in your list but it's worth a lot, you should always carry some.
