What happened to Marion? It was like a "reality" internet show.

She was removed.

She/He was a head case. Marion, if you're out there, kindly knock the sarcastic, bitchy, ball busting, intermittently profane chip off your shoulder.

gone like, powayseller

I think that it is interesting that one person could spark such controversy on this board. I am glad she is gone...

Maybe she will return. She always kept it interesting, although I do understand why Rich removed her.

Why did Rich remove her? I never saw anything in her posts that was so terrible.

You didn't see it because they were deleted when she got totally out of hand a couple months back.

She was a precious ray of sunshine and a great subject for studies of modern Americans, but I think Rich had no choice. She was making wild accusations of racism, posting private info about other posters, and seemed to be gyrating on the edge of a breakdown. I've been here for years and know that Rich gives people a lot of leeway. You can post just about anything here but when you become a threat to yourself or to others you are a liability and it's time to go.

That being said, I was highly entertained by her posts. It was like watching the movie "Grizzly Man". Anyone see that? look.

Isn't that from some SNL skit about Blue Oyster Cult?

Okay I have not been trolling here long enough to know this person. Can someone give me some insight on this? Was she actually banned or what? I am curious given some of the discourse here as to what is required to actually get you booted. When I do a search under her name the search just runs forever.

sorry accidental repost

UR, the woman was unstable. She had some serious issues with self esteem, and wasnt affraid to let you know about it. She knew little to nothing about RE, but she wanted to buy a house in Temecula area as soon as she finished her education in child therapy. I feel bad for whatever kids have to work with her.
It is ironic that wp put this up, I had been thinking the same thing. This site is just so much better off without that kind of poster.

The most recent occurrence of Marion I could find

http://piggington.com/ot_obama_vs_black_...

Sadly, I've missed the thread that finally got her deleted. But this one is entertaining and gives you the idea.

I found it (the thread that got her banned).

I really have to think about that.

The whole concept of unstated rules kind of bothers me. Then I am newer to the blogging thing and so maybe I need to learn more.

Still, it seems considering how much argument is tolerated and considered acceptable in these forums, there should be a published policy to define the line that is not to be crossed. If there is one, I have missed it. I looked only in TOU and FAQ.

That is my 2 bits.
Anyone else's thoughts?

How did you find it? It's gone from piggington, it's not on archive.org, and (as far as I can tell) it's not in Google cache.

Dan,
I should probably leave it for Rich to comment on, if he wants to, but here are my two cents anyway.
The apparent verbal abuse was reciprocal.
She had previously burdened Rich by having him remove posts that were way too personal and potentially harmful(that time to herself). In this last instance it looked like she was a threat to out someone completely. Outing people on a blog seems really messed up. I think it is a given that you are history if you do that,or threaten to do that,by words or deeds. It was correct for Rich to stop it before she got a chance to put up incriminating claims, true or false, and providing personal data to go with it.

Since he has not set down any other codes it seems understood that only offenses that common sense dictates are intolerable( not just deeds of questionable merit) are punishable by expulsion. More power to him for that "policy".

Dont want to get tossed, Dont be a total ahole. Should be an easy enough rule for everyone to follow.

Submitted by Veritas on September 18, 2008 - 8:25pm.

I do not think it was quite "outing," but more akin to cyber intimidation.
