Definitely weird. Looks like they are set up to sleep at least 12 people there, plus whatever's going on in the 4th bedroom. Showed Mr. CAR and the first thing he said was: "That looks like that Heaven's Gate cult."
The first few interior pics make it look like someone is heavily into crafts, so they might be bringing cheap immigrant labor over from Asia (or???) and using them do do the work while providing them a place to stay.
Oddly enough, they have that "family" wooden carving in the one window in one of the early interior shots. I highly doubt a family is living there unless they're one of those families who adopt massive numbers of kids, but it looks to clean for that...and they'd have to be adopting for the free labor, since they are obviously working from that home.
Strange, indeed!
What about a group home? Rehab center ... something like that.
They're allowed to be in residential areas in SD County.
That would explain the bedrooms, but what about all the tables set up in the living room and dining room?
Scrapbooking retreat.
I have friends who put on these scrapping workshop weekends. This looks like the places they rent.

LOL!
You know... that actually makes sense! But seven ppl sleeping in one room?
Very strange but I think you probably hit it on the head... That would explain the sewing machine station too.

My vote is Chinese maternity "hotel" with the tables set up
for study of English, etc.
Law enforcement recently shut one down in Chino Hills.

Scrapbook retreat looks pretty popular:

And this place is almost pre-reserved for the entire year:

Wow, I never would have thunk it! I didn't know "crafts" was a popular-enough reason to go on a "retreat."
I guess it's better than the Lion's club, community center or rec center, because a participant gets to eat and spend their nights there and so live and breathe their project until it is completed, lol.
Interesting! However, I would prefer to go on a retreat to a "scenic" place more "off the beaten path" than Esco or TV.

UCGal wins the $64,000 prize! :)
I'm gonna guess it is a family that takes in Foster kids. Some people do this and get a stipend for each kid. There are economies of scale so if you take in enough kids, you can make it happen without it costing you much money. I suppose some people try and make a profit at it but I don't think profit is a motivator for such people.

I am as un-crafty as they come. Think nerdy tomboy couch potato.
Once I knew a gal in the Inland Empire, with a Spanish surname but who looked German. She told me that her adoptive parents had lots of kids, of all colors.

I knew a few families like that growing up, too. They had their own biological and/or adopted kids and/or foster kids, plus whatever stray kids (usually with problems at home) their kids brought home from around the neighborhood. Crazy homes where you pretty much had to step over people in order to get to the bathroom, but the most wonderful, warmest people one could ever hope to know.
