You know when you're addicted to piggington when you're on the other side of the globe, and log into piggington to see what's the current events are.

Anyway, I think this is the first time that I'm in a Beijing when I actually see pretty blue skies and mild weather. It almost feels like san diego :)

I see a lot of security around the hotels. I guess it's because China is hosting an Euro-Asian economic summit, and there are a few presidents roaming around. I hope I can snap some pictures as well as taking a look inside the bird nest stadium. Stay tuned....

Anyway, the economic activity here seems to still look pretty good, though it seems like it's less active than when I was here last time. Real estate is still really expensive in Beijing, so no luck there in investing. Spending still seems to be happening on construction, as I see several skyscrappers being erected.

People seem to be in tuned to the economic rut going on in the U.S and europe. People have been asking me if "I'm ok", one even asked if I was seeking refugee status in China. (That was kinda funny.)

Obviously, we already paid visit to a silk street market here :) (not my choice).

Stockstader, where are you? I'm trying to find you in this crowd, but can't seem to hook up with you :)

Good to know I can seek refugee status in China when things go bad. Or do I have to be Chinese?

Don't know, haven't tried. I always wondered what it would be like to apply for a green card in india or china :)

I'm too old to learn Chinese. I'll have to weather it out here, or maybe move to Canada.

Well, it's interesting looking, but not quite the same as on tv ...Next :) (i know, crappy image, from not-so-good camera.)

Flee market, anyone? Not a place where Visa "is everywhere you want to be"

Anyone want anything from here (that you can't find at your local walmart)? :)
