Welcome to the fourth installment of the Weekly Piggington Report, for the weeks of March 7 and March 14 (ok and possibly March 21st)..... If you missed last last week's installment, here it is: Weekly Edition #3 Yes, I know... I'm late with issue #4...In fact, I should be working on issue #5... But hey, free is free.. So you get what you paid for. I had considered outsourcing the weekly report to lesser writers..You know, kind of like what the San Diego Union Tribune does now, but you know what, for this audience, I want to preserve the quality, crassness, and downright in-your-face trademark of the Piggington Weekly..... Ok, the real reason is I haven't outsourced this yet is because, I still haven't received any subscriptions from any of you, so please click on the Subscribe button... This issue's theme is called "Wow, Let's Talk Off-Topic... about Real Estate... No really, We're Going to Talk about Real Estate Edition" .....Because you know what, for some odd reason, folks actually wanted to start talking about Real Estate on this blog again... I don't know why.... I mean, we're in the middle of the GOP debates, Ron Paul is still the leading GOP candidate, according to Ron Paul polls. We've still haven't settled if Public Employees Unions are leeches or not, firemen are still dining like a king, the economy is still messed up, ok maybe not or maybe...And we haven't solved world peace yet... But I guess all these central and critical topics are just going to have to take backseat this issue so we can discuss some random, mudane off topic... Real estate... No really, seriously..... 1. The Weekly Inventory Report, Take 1...Take 2...Take 3... Hut hut hut. Hike.... Our Distinguished fearless Leader (DfL) sdrealtor has graciously restarted the all mightly Weekly Inventory Report that we have enjoyed many many many months (years) ago, which provides active,contingent pending status of real estate throughout san diego county... They say because of human nature, we humans move with the herd mentality....When someone doesn't want something nobody else wants something. When someone wants something, everybody else wants something... Kind of like dating...If some guy isn't available because he has an awesome girlfriend/wife, chances are he'll get hit on by other women...And if he is "available", chances are, he's going to be available for a long time. (Women on the other hand are always hit on by guys, regardless of their availability status)... Well, the same could be said about investment property...This week, we have grass roots syndrome of renewed interest in rental property and investment property... We have renewed interest from foreigners in buying dirt cheap properties now available in the U.S. http://piggington.com/need_investment_pr... We have renewed interests from overseas investments in OC.... FLU chimed in his self-deprecating inflamatory viewpoints about how this is the end of the world as we know it once the asians overrun the U.S. (Hey, FLU, got picked on much by asians growing up???) Meanwhile, we are led down a brief discussion on whether Indians are considered asians or caucasians... http://piggington.com/asians_buy_oc It seems like the sweet spot of investments appear to be $250k +- $50k, as would be investors are seeking properties around this price range... What the hell? 3. ....Are You Sure You Really Want to Have Rental Property????? Are you Really Sure? With all these renewed interests in being a landlord, our long time renowned piggington contributor, Paramount, chimes in the darker side of being a rental property owner. Hey, Check Out My Ride It started out as an innocent on-topic thread...Prius cars exhibit low fatility rate..But then it quickly devolved from there... We're first lead down a discussion of why we think Prius drivers have low fatility rates...Some expected falities to be up, because of how much people hate them. Others think the number should be lower because they can't go that fast anyway...Then we're off to a discussion about Green Tech, and how TDI is better than hybrid...ok maybe not...Let's talk about turbo cars....Ok, not. Picture of car porns include: BMW 550d, lambo, etc... Then we are led down a discussion of whether a Prius is a status symbol in La Jolla. Maybe or maybe not... But perhaps Nissan Leafs are chick magnets...Maybe not...And then we are led down a discussion about how much better the environmetn would be if everyone drove a prius... To which some suggested we c ould also just walk, ride a bike, skip every other breathe to save the environment. Actually, I think if we all fart two times less each day, we would be reducing our global warming problems.... 6. H.A.R... H.A.R... H.A.R..... Harvard...Harvard...Blah, Harvard... Don't look now, but pretty soon it will be cheaper to send your kids to Harvard than a CA state school....if your kid can get in.....Thanks CA government for totally screwing our budgets.... "Will it sell?" (Just like last time) Today's feature property: 4s Ranch, SFH Home, Complete with Slab Crack Our Leading Experts That Don't Live in the Area (LETDLITA) are off this week on vacation, so we'll have to make it without them this week. We're trying to figure out if this home in 4s is appropriately priced at $425k. Some think the crack is bad, others aren't sure... Maybe the crack will buff right out...
