Really off topic...

Nostra: Dude. You should have kept your short position in Apple...That would have made you 4/4.

Did you see what it's doing AH?

You're pretty accurate these days. I'm going to follow your leads moving forward :)

Thanks FLU!

You're right. The only reason I backed out of it (I made 2% off it) was because some posters here were going on about how great the iPhone is and how they queued up for it etc. so I chickened out.

I strongly discourage you from listening to my investment advice but I'm willing to bet that Royal Caribbean (ticker RCL) goes low tomorrow so I'm shorting. After-hours today they posted lower profit due to the cost of oil and I'm thinking along the lines that Americans are opting for stay-at-home vacations. I think RCL will drag the sector down so I'm also shorting CCL. (Carnival Cruise Lines).

I'm short on Allstate (ALL) and wamu (WM). Allstate has to cover a lot of losses because of Katrina and the fires. Wamu is reporting earnings tomorrow, we could see some action!

Today these stocks are at:

RCL $22.70
ALL $44.33
CCL $35.42
WM $5.48

Ouch! RCL and CCL up $2+ each. Another Internet supertrader bites the dust.

Supertrader? Nowhere near. But it is a good opportunity to short some more! imo

When a bull market brings stocks up 20% in less than a year, it makes me wary of buying more.

Similarly when stocks drop 20% in a short period of time, taking short positions becomes more risky.

Wow tough crowd. In Nostra's defense...

1)I called this out, because It's sort of a long running joke I have with him (albeit sort of one sided). Me thinks we both are contrarian players. That is, if you do the opposite of what I do at any instance in time, you'll probably be fine.

2)Nostra never repeat never claimed to be an expert . Never... I think a few misunderstood his response as such... He did mention about Apple and bailing out early and I remember he mentioned that and seeing what it did AH, it sort of made me chuckle. Because I can sort of relate.

What would have caused Nostra's positions to go even further against his liking is IF I had jumped in and shorted to.. You would have seen a double digit + today. Fortunately I didn't do that :) I'll post my trades more frequently, so you folks can do the opposite and actually make money.

Anyway....It's all good. It's all fun and game until someone gets their eyes poked out....errr...loses a shirt or two...

It's true. As soon as I post what I think is going one way, it almost always goes the other way...

Also, I'm not trying to brag or anything and have always posted both my losses and gains. I even go as far as posting exact numbers, rather than some people who come on here and say "wow I made a KILLING". Today wasn't a good day but like any good investor I'm in it for the long haul. We'll see what happens when the fat lady sings! The numbers I entered at are captured at the top.
