OT - Has anyone else seen duplicate credit card charges on their statement?

I opened my credit card statement on Monday and noticed that I was being charged twice for a $39 meal at a restaurant. Then today, I was talking to a friend of mine and she said the same thing happened to her on a $51 charge she made at an art store.

Probably a coincidence, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this lately.

Yep, I just had a duplicate charge from a hotel. It was pretty large so I noticed it right away -- the company is currently investigating it now...

Possibly, but when I went to the restaurant to show them the duplicate charge, the manager pulled up the information on their computer which showed only one charge for my purchase, so they told me I would have to resolve the issue with my credit card company.

Not sure if it's related or not, but our credit card was recently canceled (without telling us!) because they said someone had gotten our card information. They (Citicards) did not volunteer any further information.

Also, another friend of ours recently had multiple charges from Mexico City on her card -- all obvious fraud.

It's probably not related, but there does seem to be someone/group out there copying cc information or ???? This is in North County.
