OT - Giuliani is McCain's new VP?

Tonight I randomly picked NBC as the network to watch for debate coverage. At the end of the debate, Brian Williams talked to Joe Biden for a reaction. Then Brain Williams said that NBC asked Sarah Palin to come on the show as well, but the Republican party declined and had Rudy Giuliani speak instead. Yeah. (In Fargo accent) O-kay! Did this happen on other networks too? Is there possibly a more glaring admission from the repubs that she is a complete dolt? I thought both Obama and McCain were off the mark about the economy, Obama less so but still no mention of the inflationary effects of deficit spending. But still, can anyone take seriously someone who would put Palin in the White House in his absence when they won't even let her talk to Brian Williams?

CNN had Biden on as well, and also asked Palin to come on. She declined again, and the McCain campaign provided one of his advisors instead.

Can there be a more glaring admission that she's not ready for prime time?

I wonder if they will let her debate Biden next week. That will be really interesting!

BTW, several of the CNN analysts were CLEARLY quite peeved at her refusal to make any attempt at an appearance, and took a few shots at her.

I can understand why. To my knowledge, never before has a vice presidential candidate been so thoroughly choreographed and sheltered from the press. Even Quayle - liability that he was - was made available.

Frankly, she's looking more and more like a pin-up that McCain brought on simply because she was a female and he thought that would appeal to the Hillary crowd. Got news for you - women are, in general, and especially in the Hillary crowd, smart enough to see through that ploy.

It is totally unacceptable that they have kept her from the public. Totally unacceptable.

They expect people to vote for an unknown quantity.

I had been hearing so much about the Palin/Couric interview that I found it on YouTube today. It is clear from that interview why they are hiding her, though the interview wasn't as bad as I had been led to believe. She's obviously not ready to be VP, let alone first in line for the oval office.

The debate Thursday should be something else, though I am looking for McCain to figure out some way to cancel it...

Perhaps Mr O should be shielding "gaffe a minute Joe" from the press..

"Barack is the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."

Why in his very home state, you can't even go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts without having a slight Indian accent."

“Chuck, stand up, let the people see you. Oh, God love ya. What am I talking about?” (the dude is in a wheelchair)

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed"

“Hillary Clinton might have been a better pick”

Simple fact.. If Palin made these comments she would be written off as the biggest no nothing dunce on the planet. If Mac made the statements it would be proof positive that he was senile and had lost his marbles..

If your point is that Biden has a stronger rep and that it keeps people from saying he is either a dunce or senile (which seems to be your implication), then I agree with you.
As far as whether they should muzzle his ass, as a liberal democrat, I also agree it might be a good idea.

Still, that loose canon aspect is why he has been my favorite candidate for some time. While he is a total non-contender as far as pres, he still makes me laugh.

Also, did the author of this thread call him "brain williams"???? Thats funny.

If Palin debates, look for a tiny bug in her ear. She will need to wait 3-5 secs before Karl Rove tells her what to say.

Dan: Out of curiosity, what's your take on Palin?

I've always liked Biden. I don't agree with his politics, but I love that he's garrulous, and workihg class Catholic and an operator.

I'd like to take credit for that as a joke. Honest typo. Thanks for catching it because it gave me a good laugh. I slay myself!

There is a good reason to keep Palin under wraps and silent. There is a large empty space between her ears.
