OT: Donating a car to charityUser Forum Topic
Submitted by ctlmdjb on February 6, 2008 - 12:03pm
I've seen some car buying advice before on Pippington...I've got a 1996 Acura Integra with 145,000 miles on it. This year may be its last. I could trade it in (get maybe $1000), sell it (might be tough) or donate it to charity. Any advice on the way to go? We're in a pretty high tax bracket - how do they calculate the tax break you get for a charitable donation? I want to buy new and drive it into the ground...something that has excellent mileage. Probably another Honda...any comments?

I donated a car to Jazz-88.3 They take the car and auction it. After the auction they send you a receipt, this is the amount of your tax deduction.
I drove a Honda CRV for 10 years (since 1998) and it was still running great but I wanted to sell it before it lost all value. I sold it in 3 days on craigslist. Then I bought this fun little Mazda. I want to try all the Japanese cars (so far Toyota, Honda, and now Mazda).
My first car was a Ford. My second, a Chevy. NEVER AGAIN!!!
