Hello piggs!

I once again prevail upon you to recommend someone... this time an HVAC person who could install central air in the new (rental) place I've moved to.

I checked JtR's list first this time, but nothing for HVAC....

Thanks!

I have a call into the man that does the installs on my projects ,Rich. He does a great job. I am living in a house he did and the system is awesome. He recently did a rental I am building and has worked for a few friends and clients to each persons satisfaction. Just want to make sure he wants work and doesn't mind my posting his info. We'll see.

Rich,

Is your landlord footing the bill?

If not, have you considered one of the portable AC units?

I have one and have been pretty happy with it, since it does a pretty decent job cooling 1 room down where I am.

Thanks guys for the advice thus far... FLU, it's kind of a long story... I will spare you the details, but the long and short of it is that I am interested in pricing out central AC installation to know what all the options are...

Thanks!

Hey Rich,

I got an excellent referral for you. Greg Bouchey 619-843-9207. He is a project manager for a large heating/air company full time installs for all the major Home builders for new construction. He works for himself on the side and I knew him when I worked for one of those builders. He did my A/C in my home and I've referred him to others. Nice guy, never hurts to get an estimate and an honest answer.

Been lurking around here a couple years but didn't register until recently, 11 years commercial service.

Happy to take a look, give an opinion, second opinion, trouble shoot, maybe even fix something, but probably not a residential install.

When people ask I have always referred to two former co-workers I trust and would be interested.

Looked at craigslist this weekend for some reason http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/sks/1... No liquid line filter/drier!? not cool. saved $18 (offset by the unneeded site-glass where the drier should be). The compressor replacement in a few years when it grounds will be 2k.

Apparently residential guys don't think you need to pull a vacuum (let alone a proper vacuum), double whammy with no drier. Takes a few years for any moisture left in the system to turn to acid, eat the insulation of the compressors windings and ground, but it will.

I'm not sure why you want to put AC in a rental either, but you could call George @ GWBProair 619-261-4748 for an estimate. He installed my system and I never had a problem with it in 15+ years. You could say Mike referred you.
