Anyone familiar with this? I have several friends/acquaintances who have gone to this. One thing I've noticed is that some of these people use the phrase "it works for me" quite a bit. I actually met someone recently that used that phrase and I am seriously thinking that person must have gone to a Landmark Forum. Anyone else noticed this? Any thoughts on Landmark? Note: I am NOT thinking of going myself - I am of the opinion that it is a waste of time and money but I am still curious about what other people have observed.

It is a motivational seminar mixed with a pyramid scheme. I went to a couple of things with my boss just to humor him. If you're bored in life and need a kick in the rear it might have some value but it is expensive and takes a bunch of time.

Funny how the second part of that pretty-much goes without saying.

Do you like putting people down or are you trying to be funny?

I thought it was funny.

You always go back to that kettle comment about me, prove it on a post by me, otherwise quit hiding behind it. I like RP, I am not a fanatic but I agree with some of his views. I do not like MM so I must disagree with your original comment. btw, didn't bringing in politcal comments to a thread get banned or somebody banned?

Submitted by sdrealtor on April 19, 2012 - 5:10pm.

I am pretty apolitical and really have no bias against RP just against fanatical followers of anything and anyone. My comment had nothing to do with your RP views. You take pleasure in trying to put me down and in trying to be funny. You arent very successful at either.

Submitted by desmond on April 19, 2012 - 5:23pm.

No I do not seek any pleasure in putting you down, I disagree with most of your RE points, that is it. Again, if you can show me where I have put you or others down then I will apoligize. I just thought the RP comment on this topic was bizarre.

No, that "pleasure" is mine. Since my "putdowns" are always after-the-fact (after you put me down either overtly or with a veiled attempt), I wish they WERE funny :=0 .... I do what I can here to keep the Piggs entertained ... I CAN cuz you leave yourself so wide open here that you make it easy for me!

I can't even count how many "veiled attempts" at putting me down that were posted by you that I have just ignored.

btw, I've done what MM33 is trying to do here ... for local candidates. It's not easy. And this was before the internet. It is VERY hard to educate voters. The vast majority of them are apathetic.

And since you're presently "ignoring me," you won't even see this.

As is should be .....

FWIW the landmark forum is actually a pretty good program for people who needed help getting through changes in life and dealing with the challenges of life. I was speaking to a good friend of mine about it who is a smart, pragmatic and successful business consultant/coach/author/motivational speaker. Someone in my family tried to pull me into it and my friend said I ddint need it cause I had all that stuff figured out on my own. He had good things to say about the core program its just all the extras they try to sell you that gets expensive.

As for the comment, I just found it bizarre that MarkMax disappeared and suddenly showed up to jump in on this topic. he pledged to never give up his RP fight and to stay to take his medicine if RP was not successful. we have seen how that went.

It's difficult to take any motivational speaker seriously post kiyosaki and post chris farley.

Last nite I got this weird church junk mail with a "prayer rug" saying I'd get money blessings but only if I returned the rug ( paper Jesus poster). I sent it back cuz I really want to see their follow up. Anyone seen this?

i think squatting improves character more than any motivational seminar.

SD Realtor is mad at me because I called him out for predicting the market which should be illegal for a salesman in any trade. He ties everything to Ron Paul because that's an easy mark for him. We all know he's full of it.

SD Realtor - I have not gone anywhere my friend. I have been waiting for the final news in the caucus states for the official results so I can shut you up and people like you. Ron Paul has likely won 8-9 states and I'm telling you the media has been lying to you, and I'm about to prove it.

Me thinks RP has as big of chance as one would have retiring off of Zygna stock at this point(I think we're at 9.22 since the double down, no?) or seeing 50% in beachfront liveable property in S.D that one ( an individual) can buy (....an institution, on the other hand, probably can get 50% in imho).

But back on topic...I don't know, sometimes it's probably better to be a sheep and believe in someone else's B.S. than to be a smartass and be always skeptical/miserable of everything...I think that's probably why you end up seeing a lot of highly analytical people just suck at the most practical day to day things. On the other hand, I've seen some pretty stupid wealthy people, so it makes me wonder.

But I love kiyosaki. Because all you need to do to become rich, is buy his book...Which tells you to go to his seminar, which then tells you to buy his other book which then tells you to go to his other seminar which tells you to buy another book and board game.

Hey, I want to be a motivational speaker. I'm going to have a seminar that that will tell you how to think for yourself. In the seminar, I am going to brainwash you and force you to think...for yourself...
Oh the irony...

One of the formative experiences of my life was a year spent working long hours for a guy who gave expensive marketing seminars. Dude made money.
