In and out of Escrow

PW this one is for you...

I had made an offer that actually did get accepted a about 10 days ago. Today however we just cancelled escrow due to some issues found during the discovery period. The home was one here in Scripps. I had found it as a NOD last year, (thanks AN) and chased the owner down and made an offer... he said no and told me he would get the NOD cured but did not. He lost it over the spring but an investor bought it for cash at the trustee sale and put it on the market 2 weeks ago. The rest is history.

Bummer...could you share the issue or that would be considered classified? I am guessing something major with foundation

I know the house and looked hard at it myself SDR. Sorry it didn't work out.

Is this a house for you or for one of your clients?

It was for me.

Bummer. Sorry to hear it.

Thanks guys... it is just all part of the process... we put in a little over 1k to do all of our diligence but in the end it is money well spent. Sometimes they go through and sometimes they don't. The financial side of me is very pleased by walking away. The side that saw the potential in the lot and home is definitely bummed.

As I tell all my clients, there will be another home in the future but it may be quite awhile.

It won't be that long, I'll wager one night's bar tab that you find better for less before the playoffs.

Sorry to hear about that SD Realtor. Weren't you also looking in the Encinitas area?

While I'm sure you're bummed about it now, I have a feeling you'll look back on this failed buy with tremendous relief.

Good luck with your continued house-hunt!

CA yeah we have kept our eye on some spots within Encinitas but finding the lot size we want up there is pretty tough. Yep I am sure we will look back on it with relief rather then regret. Actually I am already doing that!

Hi SDR - I'm amazed that you could carry on your work duties & provide the concise info. for folks on this site (in addition to kids & who knows what else!) - I'd just be a little blob to be scraped up off the kitchen floor with all that shit.

You'll score big when it's time - keep us in the loop!
