Got Lockbox? :)User Forum Topic
Submitted by flu on July 13, 2008 - 9:12pm
I was in downtown this morning, near the ballpark. Something caught my wife's and I's attention. Couldn't help but take a picture to share (excuse the quality, cell phones...)... A picture is worth a thousand words. Got lockbox?

I've been wondering how the downtown condo market is doing. I see hordes for sale, but it seems like we've got a deadlock. Are many (any?) units closing?
How many lockboxes are there in the photo? Looks like 8, is that correct?
However... There could be one for ATT Landline... One for SDGE... One for Sprint Cellular... Blah Blah Blah... I understand the point you are trying to make but they may not actually be for REs.

There are 8, and to answer cdma eng's question. Most of of them had a coldwell banker card on it. :)
Having been to many buildings that is actually not as many as most. I've seen 20+ at most buildings.
Isn't there supposed to be a closet full of them at one of these downtown condos? The Piggs were chatting about one in particular not that long ago...
If i recall this wasn't a very large complex. It wasn't a towering apartment building. Perhaps I also missed the locker boxes at the other water pipes :)
This means absolutely nothing. These units could be rental properties, where the landloard is a realtor or hired a realtor to manage the property, and they leave them there for convenience when they need to access the property. In addition, some of these, especially the smaller ones that have a dial combination are probably additional lockboxes that have gate transmitter or key fobs to actually enter the building. The SANDICOR box usually only has the keys for the house, and additional transmitters, etc are often stored in other lock boxes.
In my building, 50% of the lockboxes are actually rental properties, not for sale.
I was walking downtown and saw a complex with a ton of lock boxes and underneath them were about a dozen homeless people sleeping. I wish I had a camera. Need to go back and find that place.
Isn't Social Security supposed to be stored in those things?
8 lock boxes.
At least 4 are current realtor sentrilocks.
At least 1 is an obsolete realtor supralock (or possibly an out of county agent).
The complex you are thinking of is probably either Treo or La Vita. They both have over-packed exterior cabinets.
No there are not socials stored on them.
Acqua Vista actually has more boxes but they are in a locked room.
